Where fog wins

You know exactly when it happens.

Fog shows up at the worst moments. Here is why, and what changes with a heated lens.

Stopped on the chairlift

No airflow, warm breath, cold lens. Fog builds in seconds.

Heat keeps working when you stop moving.

Gaiter pulled up

Your face covering pushes breath straight up into the goggle.

Keep the gaiter on. Heat the lens instead.

Hard laps

Sweat and heavy breathing flood the goggle with moisture.

A warmer lens gives moisture nowhere to settle.

Lodge to slope

Going from a warm room to the cold turns your lens into a fog magnet.

One tap and the inner lens warms up.

Why goggles fog

It's not your goggles. It's physics.

Warm, wet air from your breath and skin hits a lens that is colder than it is. That moisture turns to water droplets. That's fog.

Coatings, vents and fans only slow that down. NIVAL goes after the cause: a heated inner lens that stays warmer than your breath, so moisture has nowhere to settle.

Think of your car's rear window defroster, built into your goggles.

Get yours

Warms the lens, not your face. Clears inside fog only. Snow and ice on the outer lens still need a wipe.

Questions

Straight answers.

How does a heated lens stop fog?

Fog is condensation. Warm, wet air from your face hits a lens that is colder than it is and turns to droplets. A thin heating film inside the lens keeps it warmer than your breath, so that moisture has a much harder time forming. It works like your car's rear window defroster.

Will it warm my face?

No. It warms the lens, not your face. You won't feel heat on your skin.

How long does the battery last?

It has a 2000 mAh battery that charges by USB-C in about 2.5 hours, and a quick press of the button shows how much is left. Expect 5 to 12 hours per charge, depending on how cold it is and how much the heat is running. Charge it fully the night before each ski day.

Does it clear snow and ice on the outside of the lens?

No. The heat works on the inner lens, where fog forms. Snow, rain or ice on the outside still needs a wipe.

Can I swap the lens?

Yes. The outer lens is magnetic, so it snaps off and a spare snaps on in seconds. The heated inner lens stays in the goggle. You can add a spare lens in Red, Ice Blue, Purple, Silver or Transparent when you order.

When will my order ship?

Orders are processed in 1 to 3 business days and ship with free tracking in the US. You'll get a tracking link by email as soon as it ships.
